Incoming / Outgoing Mail
All incoming correspondence will be processed through the U.S. Postal Service. The mailing address to receive mail is:

The Adult Detention Center permits inmates to correspond with family, friends, officials, and other significant community contacts with a minimum of interference consistent with legitimate security needs. Correspondence, mail, and packages are received, inspected, sorted, and redistributed in a non-inmate-contact portion of the facility. Acceptable mail falls into four (4) categories.

Any mail received or sent to the courts, attorney of record or public official. Incoming legal mail shall be opened by an officer in the presence of the inmate. Outgoing legal mail will be sealed in the presence of a corrections officer. Packages of incoming legal material are the only bulk materials permitted, and will be delayed no more than 24 hours for inspection and other processing, excluding weekends and holidays.
All personal mail will be a standard cardstock, white color front, lined back and not to exceed 8.5 x 11 inches in size. All personal mail will be inspected for contraband.
Envelopes containing money orders will be opened by the facility staff, logged and disposed of. The money order will be processed into the inmates account upon his/her endorsement of the money order.
Photographs may be received provided there is no writing on the photograph and the photograph is in compliance with the standards of paragraph C of this policy. The envelope and any other material other than the photographs will be destroyed.
