Blount County's Risk Management Department works to eliminate or reduce as far as practical, the conditions and practices which cause losses. When these risks cannot be eliminated or reduced to acceptable levels, Risk Management secures insurance utilizing deductibles and self-insurance retentions to efficiently control premium costs saving taxpayers' money.

Assisting the County departments, Risk Management strives to develop and maintain a strong loss control program by taking a proactive position through preventative action to help minimize the overall cost of government for Blount County citizens.
